Expedition Overview
Evolution is an exclusive yacht designed to navigate the waters of the Galapagos Islands. The yacht is equipped with 4 luxury staterooms and 3 master suites, all with luxurious wood finishes and plenty of space, as well as spacious social areas, including: outdoor dining, library, sundeck, heated pool and bar. All the facilities offered by Evolution are totally comfortable and elegant.
Why Evolution?
- ★ The design is based on the styling of luxury steamers of the 1920s and 1930s.
- ★ ISM (International Safety Management) certified.
- ★ Equipped with an emergency alarm system.
- ★ 3 emergency life rafts for 26 persons each.
- ★ All emergency equipment is SOLAS certified.
- ★ 2 boats (pangas/zodiacs) for 16 people each and one boat for 12 people for daily activities.
This vessel preserves the smaller boat atmosphere and attention to detail we pride ourselves in having on all our boats, with features such as an al-fresco dining area for all 32 passengers, a library/video room. Additionally, the yacht has such amenities as a small hot pool & bar, sunning deck, outside social/observation under a canopied roof deck & bar, air renewal system, boutique and infirmary with a MD on board at all times.
The Evolution carries only 32 passengers on each Galapagos tour, she features 16 stylish cabins each has its own private facilities with hot water shower and plenty of space so you feel you are on a larger boat (2 suites on the boat deck, 8 cabins on the main deck, 6 cabins on the lower deck).
The friendly crew is ready to see to your every need. A special tour leader will oversee your yacht. And depending on the size of your group, you will have up to two naturalist guides. The Evolution also offers unique perspectives on your Galapagos tours. Carrying clear acrylic sea kayaks for ‘glass-bottom’ glimpses beneath the calm seas. And ‘snuba’* for longer, deeper explorations of underwater life. We dedicate the Evolution to the astute world-traveler whose voyage of discovery is boundless and never-ending!

FAQS
How much should I tip?
Tips are not included in the trip cost. These are entirely at your discretion but there is an expectation to tip for good service. Your guide will help with advice; however, we suggest the below as a guideline per person.
Guides: USD 10- USD 15 per day
Of course, you are free to tip more or less, and the amount should be reflective of your perception of service and quality - a tip is not compulsory and should only be given when you receive excellent service.
What Do I Do about drinking water?
The tap water in the Galapagos Islands is not always friendly on the stomach for those who haven't been in Latin America for a while. There is purified water in each of the accommodation which you can use to fill up each morning, so be sure to pack a reusable water bottle or two.
What’s the weather like?
The Galapagos Islands lie directly on the Equator, so you can expect it to be warm for most of the year. However, it’s not always tropical and Caribbean-like: wind and rain are definitely possible at certain times of year. It’s wise to know these weather patterns before planning your trip so you know when to visit and what to expect.
The hottest season is generally from December to April with average temperatures ranging from a low of 70 F to a high of 84 F (22 – 31 C). It’s also the rainy season.
May to November is considered the “cool” season with average temperatures ranging from a low of 68 F to a high of 82 F (19 – 27 C) and frequent overcast skies.
What vaccinations do I need?
For the Galapagos Islands, Covid vaccination is required.
