Flamingos begin their mating season, so they can be seen doing their rituals to attract the female. Just as the Galapagos hawks begin their courtship season.

Swallow-tailed gulls begin nesting on Genovesa Island and August is a good month to spot red-footed boobies. 


On the other hand, land animals don’t appear as much, as due to the season the highlands don’t have enough vegetation. However, on Santa Cruz Island the giant tortoises begin to lay their eggs, it is usual to see them protecting and guarding them until they hatch.
